Even though I isolated myself most of the time for 2 or 3 years; when I was reading my Bible, praying, or listening to Christian music, I felt God's presence, not loneliness. I also felt God's love for me most of the time. I felt deep joy and peace in knowing that I'm going to heaven, even though I was sad often, and it showed on my face and in my behavior. I also felt peace knowing that I was doing my best to please Jesus. I also think it's very important to record that when I was depressed, and even now, when I'm not, praying for others helped me look outside myself, and be less self-centered and woe-is-me. Finally, reading depressing verses in the Bible, such as Isaiah 38:1 and 53:5, along with listening to depressing music, helped sober me when I was manic.

The Significance of Black

 Black is my favorite color. To me, wearing it represents elegance, good taste, and mellowness and sobriety of emotion. It acknowledges the darkness within, and the fallenness and evil in the world outside. In my opinion, it is also a just plain beautiful color. Wearing black gives one a mysterious air, as it seems to reveal so little about a person. I think black reflects my personality well, since I'm more serious than bubbly; I like classical music, and black is classic. In addition, most of the time I view myself as more of a black than a white sheep. I don't like to wear my heart on my sleeve, or let others know much about myself, therefore, once again, black screams "mystery!" Also I wear black because: some suffering is necessary for happiness, and a lovely character, therefore I mourn and rejoice at the same time. Black is my favorite color.
